Hornady 6mm 105 BTHP

Since Berger 105 Hybrids are tough to find I started shooting 107 SMk's. They do pretty good so far. However, I located several hundred Hornady 6mm 105 BTHP's for a very good price from a guy I shoot around. Never shot these or entertained the idea. Any first hand experience with them would be appreciated. Sorry to be so wordy. Appreciate the info.

Don't waste your money. Send me his phone number, I'll work out a lead waste reclamation plan with him.

Seriously, these work really well out to 600 yds and I've shot them very effectively (for me) several times at 1K yds.

Due to $$$ costs, my preferred bullet along with the Hornady 107's at 600 yds.

I run them in my .243 for the past few years when I use it in matches and they work great. Never measured or weighed them and never an issue shooting them in matches. Shot a couple 3.5" shot groups at 700 with them which is good for me. They are easily sub 1/2 MOA at 100.

The two outliers are sighters that's the best group I've got with the hornady. Probably .4 or so. Out of a 6 br at 100 yards doing load development.

That's on the top end of my groups with most being much smaller. Usually in the .2-.3 are with the 105s for 5 shot 100 yard groups. Getting about 3070fps pushed by H4350 in my .243.

You'll get 1/2 moa out of them. Maybe 3/8 moa. Never got them to shoot 1/4moa.

They're great for steel matches and they have long bearing surface.

I did a seven inch group at one thousand yards with Hornady 105s so I am happy with them. It is a 235 mile trip to the range so I don't get there often.

I've had reasonably good results with them and I would shoot them in a steel match without hesitation. I've had best results with this bullet pushed hard out of a .243 AI, about .005" off the lands They won't shoot with the Hybrids, but they can be had for less than half the cost. Good bullet to use when you're working on your rifle manners. The 105 gr. Barnes Match Burners are priced in the same general neighborhood and they are more consistent in weight, measure and on the target.
