Hornady 300 WM loading data

I am looking at the Hornady 11 th edition at the 300 wm load data.
On pg 598 it shows the 212gr ELD-X loaded to a col of 3.5". On pg 597 it shows a col of 3.34" fot the 200gr ELD-X. The other heavy bullet loads on pgs 597, 598, and 599 at all 3.34".
Has any one contacted Hornady for an explanation? Any thoughts?

Hornady has a few issues with their "numbers". If you look at the 30-378 Wea. page 632 you'll see a couple issues, 208 BTHP Match col is .645 It should be 3.645, 212 ELDX col is listed at 4.000. Page 626 has the 300 RUM 212 ELD-x listed at 3.900 col.

It is interesting that the Navy Seal mark 248 mod 1 is 3.5 oal for the 220 smk

some manuals list powder charges 3grs more for heavy bullets than lighter ones, same powder same bullet profile drives me bonkers

As the manuel states, always start with the lowest load, etc, etc. I'm afraid many newer reloaders lack a mentor and really don't understand the safety issues.

Many of the heavy long bullets like the 212gr ELD-X, have to be seated longer than the 3.400 normal overall length.

On the same page they list the same 220 ELD- X at 3.34.
The profiles must be a little different because the G7 is a little higher on the 212.
