hornady 178 hpbt 308

I bought some of these to try instead of the 175 smk that I have been using in my f/tr 308.Has anyone had good luck with these hornady 178? The 178 have a higher bc .

I have not reloaded any but the PX at FT Drum had them instock when I purchased my M1A and the rifle loved them as far as factory ammo goes. It would shoot half inch groups at 100 repeatdly even after the barrel heated up. I went back and got all they had in stock and still have some left that I never shot. Shot it out to 500 while at drum and they hit within 4 inchs for me as long as the barrel was cool. I plan on trying to duplicate the load as soon as I shoot all the brass empty.

thanks I was at FT Drum when they activated the 10th mountain div from 87 -90 .Boy was there some great small mouth bass fishing there on the river that ran threw drum .I think it was the black river.We would hike out from the barracks and fish all weekend.thanks for the input on the 178,s.

The bass fishing still kicks but. We would get passes to go out to the streams on the ranges that feed into black river and fish. Monster bass back there. Also the lake on the base is catch and release only for the last few years so the fishing is amazing there as long as you can go hungry. My friends and I would fish salmon river south of water town they caught a few salmon but I never did even though I fished till water froze to my waiters and my boots stuck to the rocks. I miss Drum and only been gone a year. The place had everything an outdoorsman wanted.
