Do all Gunsmiths tell,Read:Lie to) their customers what they think they want to hear, or are there a few up front, honest) ones out there?
I'm not trying to throw hot water on a sore dog, but I have worked in two shops part time while in the military, and have had work done by others during the past 43 years and none of them will tell you,i.e., it will take me six weeks to get it done, I'm just buried, etc.)the truth concerning turn around time. I'm having these issues with my current "Smith", he called and said he had received my new barrel and that he would start,Chamber & install recoil pad) on it on Monday. After 2 weeks I called him back, he said he'd bring it up to me that evening. Needless to say he never showed up, that's right, he didn't even have the decency to call. It's now been almost 4 weeks and still no call, won't even return my calls). I have a .308 barrel coming in also and I'm looking for an honest Smithy to do this one. Any suggestions guys?
