Very nice but when I see one with all this effort done and the beautiful result, I would want it to fit all my guns, from tactical to benchrest, roughly 1.5 inches to 5. I have seen a top that could cover that entire range that had a centered piece of nylon that the gun sat on and the sides would screw toward each other through holes in the sides. I have a home made at about 35 lbs for my 5 inch bench gun not as pretty as yours but functional.

We tested,base made a noticeable difference,one of the boys figured a new use for the "plumb" chain...doh.

The ears are adjustable. My rest will work on all my rifles from sportier to 3" BR rifles. The trick is to use a nice home made tracking plate that fits the sporter stocks. Next project will be a joystick model. Fun stuff to machine.

Yes the top ring is the mariners wheel. Thinking about machining some cool windows in it to dress it up a little. So many fun projects, just not enough hours in the day.
