Hi to all,
Sent for a tap to make modified cases but wanting some ideas on expanding the necks to allow free bullet movement. All suggestions welcomed.

Greg, Would you please inform us what's correct tap needed to match the threads on the Hornady Lock-N-Load overall length gage tool. I need to make a few wild-cat modified cases myself.

Gunamonth, your lapping compound method answered our question on how to get a good slip fit.

Thanks
RJ

RJ,
The tap size is 5/16-36. Drillsize is 19/64. You can order tap from Hermanscentral.com. Part# DRI-DWT5/16-36. $12.95 plus ship. Thanks for the help gunamonth.

Drill and tap your case 5/16 X 36 tpi, in the lathe. Then turn your case around in the chuck and insert a tapered indexing rod into your tailstock chuck then turn your hand wheel on your tail stock pressing the tapered rod into the case neck.. Keep it well lubricated with oil so as it will remove well.
