"Home made", I think it will work

I hadn't been able to find another turret for my old Lyman press so I made one. I had to guesstimate the bolt circle diameter assuming it would be a standard dimension. My best measurement gave me 3".
It seems to be just a bit smaller. With the new head mounted and using a FL sizing die the press shifts the case away from the center post about 30 thousandths as the ram is stroked. The base of the case is still solidly on the shell holder and the resized case appears concentric.
Unless the brain trust here thinks different I'm going to call that good and make another with the same dimensions.

I’ve messed with enough Lyman equipment to learn they like to use non standard measurements, thread pitches, or both together, so having the diameter of a bolt circle off from a standard dimension wouldn’t surprise me.

Sounds to me like the shell holder is allowing the case to "float" to center itself in the die which is the theory behind putting an "O" ring under the locking ring for the dies, also similar to floating the die in the Bonanza/Forster presses. Load up a few and put them on paper I bet they will be fine.

For the next one you make turn a scribing point with a rim that fits the ram or a shell holder, coat the bottom side of the plate that has been center drilled with your favorite layout fluid, install plate layout fluid side down, bring the ram up so scribe contacts plate spin plate and pat yourself on the back for using WV (my home State) ingenuity to establish your die circle without any measuring errors,

that's a good idea. The scriber has got to fit real tight else it'll wobble during rotation. I think just using the scribe to make a prick mark would give a good dimension.
