Home Made Chronograph Sun Deflectors

So, I went to the range today to tryout my contraption. Worked great! I did get a few false triggers as the very intense sun changed. But all in all, was very satisfied with my $5 modification.

I have a labradar now and I do not miss those very sunny days where the chrono would say my loads were either 825fps or 5400fps. However, I do miss the battery on the optical chronograph. One 9 volt would last nearly an entire season and data was so much easier to export.
Why is data not easy to export from Labradar? It's in CSV form.

The app for the Caldwell is light years better than the lab radar. The lab radar app is wonky at best. Still lots of connection issues for me and downloading a group of series is not as easy as the Caldwell. It's kinda hard to explain the differences between the two unless you have used them.

Add on top of that.... my SD card reader on the labradar is kaput. I can get it to recognize a card 1 in 5 tries, but the recoil of shooting jostles the leads or something like that and it will not record data on an SD card.

All in all, the non-chronograph portion of the Caldwell is well thought out, unlike the labradar. But the chrono(radar) portion of the labradar is top notch. So I keep plugging away with the labradar. I just happen to keep less thorough records due to only being able to use the internal memory

Try hitting the SD card contacts with a pink pencil eraser, and/or clean with a cloth dampened with alcohol or acetone. If it still has problems, reformat it in the LabRadar. Might work, might not.

Replace the SD card. They fail. Excel reads the CSV file natively. It doesn't get much easier.

I have tried 8 different SD cards. None stay connected. Comma delimited file reading is not the problem. It's getting the CSV card to my computer.

I added a strip of IR leds to the underside of the diffuser.
