holster help

6) As the years pass, everything seems to be getting heavier

I’ve been thinking of getting one of those really big belt buckles some guys wear down here and riveting a holster on the back of it. What do ya think?
Lol , I have seen some that are easily large enough...
Not only are things getting heavier , it's also alot further to the ground when you drop something...

My $.002 (for what it's worth)

After wearing holsters in many styles and configurations for many years, I have come to the conclusion that: what fits comfortably on one person may not necessarily be comfortable for you. You may have to purchase several holsters before you fine one comfortable for you. A holster that is comfortable to wear in general may be horrible to wear while driving. The most comfortable holster may not provide the most concealment. The holster must retain the firearm until you are ready to draw it, even as you are running for cover or get knocked on your ass.

When I carry concealed, I usually carry a Shield or LCP II. To me it's always warm weather here in socal (I grew up in WNY) I am typically trying to conceal over a single shirt with a IWB holster. It is not that comfortable but bearable. I have added moleskin to the area of the holster that contacts my skin, it helps.
So minor modifications that do not interfere with the function is acceptable (to me).

YMMV

As Clint Smith will tell you, "It's not supposed to be comfortable. It's supposed to be comforting."

I’m starting my own box. I just ordered a crossdraw outside waist band to try. Time will tell. It may wind up in the box. Darn thing is, my old favorite was a shoulder holster but it’s too darn hot in Texas to wear a jacket!
Just ordered a crossdraw from Mernickle in Pampa Tx

I'm a big fan of Gerrett Silent Thunder holsters. However, just like all have said, this is a personal thing. I carry at 3 to 4 O'clock. They are great for that, however they are not great for appendix carry. Just like everyone else, I had an O'box of holsters before finding the Silent Thunder. Stumbled across them when I traded a buddy for a pistol and he gave me one. Have like 6 of them now. Not cheap either.

No matter what holster you pick , it will not fit for shot without a good belt. I just got a new belt from Simply Rugged in November. But your belt to the size the holster is cut to fit. Check local second hand sporting stores for used holsters as well. I have a sore by me that gets all kinds of in great condition used and new one in.
