hollow point bullets with media in the tips,,,, big deal or no big deal

recently decided to try some new bullets for 223 rem,, out of my "precision" ar. they are a less known bullet manufacturer and the bullets are a 69gr hpbt,, however, the bullets have some, i think, corn cob media clogging up the hollow tips. this was in fact disclosed when i purchased the bullets. i really didn't think about it at the time and i don't want go thru 4k bullets picking out corn with tweezers,,,,,,,, has anyone had experience with the overall difference in accuracy between clogged tips and unclogged tips?

in my defense, the bullets were 16 cents apiece vs smk's being close to 30 cents so i will shoot them but was wondering what to expect?

i am used to easily shooting under 1 moa with this rifle (thank you to jp for his nice barrels and trigger-tech) with 69-77 gr ammo from federal or corbon or the old prime stuff and others,, even hornady.

It's not a big deal. I've shot a lot of nosler custom comps at 300 yds that had media in the tips. Lots of rapid fire groups shot with a sling and irons that could be covered with a saucer. Maybe not benchrest but ok for most things.

What's the load for? I'd be more concerned about the effect on terminal effectiveness than accuracy, if your intent was, say, a groundhog load.

Like others have mentioned, load up a quick, little ladder and see what you get.

Am curious... why the cleaning media in the first place? Was the previous owner trying to make them look pretty or something?

I am interested in your results as well. Load up a couple of “lots”; one with the tip occluded, the other without the corncob ballistic tip;), and shoot for groups.
My range has recently added berms out to 600 yds and I plan to do a lot of shooting on steel there. These bullets would certainly appeal to me. I can’t imagine that a tiny, virtually immeasurable in weight, kernel that small could negatively affect accuracy.
Please post your results.

If the media is inside the tip and the tip is similar to the SMK it should have very little effect if any on the aerodynamics.

It's not going to show up target but that depends on how much media stays in the bullet tip between the top of core and the meplat. Up to two grains difference is possible. The media can fall out while the rifle cycling and could cause a cycle malfunction. During a match this could be a headache.

Before I found rice did a better job I cleaned moly bullets with media. Don't care for moly but price was great.
Shot many with media in nose. Zero difference in accuracy.
Do I recommend putting media in the nose? No. But I wouldn't spend a second trying to pick it out.

An ultra sonic cleaner might clean them up. Make sure it doesn't alter the surface texture. I bought a cheap one at harbor Freight. Seldom us it.

If it bothers you, it will affect your shooting, even if it doesn't affect the bullet's stability in flight. If you want it removed, bake the bullets in the oven at 400* for 30 min. It will carbonize the media and it will shake out easily in a cardboard box. No way that kind of temp will cause a change in the bullet itself. Just don't let the wife catch you, no way she will believe it to be OK, (just kidding about the wife thing.)
