Holders Assualt Weapon Ban

I buy 10,000 primers at a clip out of economics....i.e....I am cheap.
I do shoot several thousand rounds a year.
Having reloaded for 40 odd years, I learned early on that when you find the right components ....to buy as much as you can afford....not so much as to availability problems ... but buying the same 'lot' of manufacture.
Many engaged in competitive shooting do likewise.
The rants about unfair hoarding are frivolous at best.

Again...you quote case law. Shall not infringe - just how does that need 'interpretation?' I have rights - they are not *granted* to me by an inanimate object. You see I don't agree with ANY firearm restrictions, including full auto or barrel length). I believe in punishing the guilty/irresponsible - not limiting freedom for the common good, what a joke). You can quote the law all you want but that does not make the law moral. You seem all too willing to bow down and thank the oppressors for allow you to exist.

Moral does not matter? Thank you for making my point for me,and prooving your charater-lack-of). Now run along and salute obongo/bidden/pelosi.

I never said 'no laws.' Just the opposite - I want nothing but personal responisbiity - hence only punish the guilty. Now who is twisting words?

As to Capone and full autos - the Founders could have said 'caliber less than military' but they did not. Because the PEOPLE are the ones with rights. This has nothing to do with hunting. Again, you show your lack of grasping the concept of freedom. 2A is the ultimate check on a corrupt govt - its not about sporting use or hunting. If it was about hunting it would say that!

You are a sell out and I have no time for such lack of character. Good luck - seems you'll need it.

If there were reasons other than hunting and protection during the drafting of the Constitution, please, by all means, tell us what they were.

Sure thing. The principal reason for the Second Amendment is to assure that citizens can prevent government tyrrany. E.g.:

'f circumstances should at any time oblige the government to form an army of any magnitude, that army can never be formidable to the liberties of the people while there is a large body of citizens, little if at all inferior to them in discipline and the use of arms, who stand ready to defend their rights and those of their fellow citizens.' -- The Federalist, No. 29 - Alexander Hamilton

'Who are the militia? Are they not ourselves? Congress have no power to disarm the militia. Their swords and every other terrible implement of the soldier, are the birthright of an American . . . . The unlimited power of the sword is not in the hands of either the federal or state governments, but, where I trust in God it will ever remain, in the hands of the people.' -- The Pennsylvania Gazette, Feb. 20, 1788

'Another source of power in government is a military force. But this, to be efficient, must be superior to any force that axists among the people, or which they can command; for otherwise this force would be annihilated, on the first exercise of acts of oppression. Before a standing army can rule, the people must be disarmed; as they are in almost every kingdom in Europe. The supreme power in America cannot enforce unjust laws by the sword; because the whole body of the people are armed, and constitute a force superior to any band of regular troops that can be, on any pretense, raised in the United States. A military force, at the command of Congress, can execute no laws, but such as the people perceive to be just and constitutional; for they will possess the power, and jealousy will instantly inspire the inclination, to resist the execution of a law which appears to them unjust and oppressive.' - Noah Webster An Examination of the Leading Principles of the Federal Constitution, Philadelphia, 1787

How nice of Mr. Holder to concern himself with Mexico.Maybe he should resign, work under Hillary as a Mexican Diplomat and let someone with common sense be appointed to represent US Law.

Ok JRS I am calling you out. I specifically said that 2A was the final check on govt power. Guess you missed that, read much?). Our enemies have shown that no matter what concessions are made on firearms they won't stop until ALL guns are gone. And no - I don't believe in ANY gun restrictions - period, just like our Founders wrote). Seems that reading thing just bit in the butt again huh? Just like I posted before it comes down to personal responsibility. Punish, harshly) anyone that commits a violent crime. Every person should have complete freedom but the other side of the equation is taking responsibility for ones action.

'Times have changed' - what a cop out. Freedom never changes. Those that would trade freedom for security deserve neither,B Franklin). You need to quit reading democrap propaganda and try some Jeff Cooper. Maybe that is the Rx for your lack of moral fiber. Sounds like you are the kind of guy that would rat out your neighbor to the secret police.

JRS,
I am sure I am making a mistake by posting to this thread because I feel that is what you thrive on.
I have read a number of your post in the past and it all reads the same to me. You seem to get your entertainment by this boxing match with quotes from the law.
I just want to chime in and say you are wrong and you will see that in do time.

Hammerhead.

JRS,

You are right about the fact that times have changed...Do you think if the founding fathers were alive today that they'd rewrite the laws??? When they looked around or watched the news at night, it would scared them to death...People of all walks of life being murdered, women raped daily, the very rights that this country were founded on being trampled under the feet of not only the crimials, but the liberal politicians that are running this country! Our founding fathers today would REQUIRE!! that every citizen be armed in order to protect themselves in this world today that has deterated in moral values where your life or mine has no meaning to the thug that robs and kills us for a $5 fix of crack!

You like numbers..here's one for...You know what state in this union of ours that has the lowest crime rate??? Try Vermont..the state with the longest border shared with New York, which happens to have one of the highest crime rates despite all their 'gun laws' to protect the citizens. Guess what...Vermont basically doesn't have any restrictions on the ownership of any kind of firearm in their state. The crimials know this, thus are afraid that they will get the ass shot off while causing damage or harm to a Vermont citizen, thus the low crime rate..Image that..people can actually stand up for themselves, protect what is theirs, and not be afraid to leave their doors unlocked at night!!!

For you to say that the times have changed in the way that you suggest is absurd!! We should all be able to own any type, whatever type weapon it takes to defend ourselves in todays world! Recently here in Arkansas, a young anchor women for a local tv station was brutally raped, and then beaten to death..so bad, that her jaws were ripped off in the attack!! Image if that was your child...Do you ever wonder if maybe she'd not had the same liberal ideals as you, if maybe she'd kept a pistol on the night stand, she was young, single with no children to worry about), that she might not have suffered such a fate??

Like someone else here mentioned...you seem to thrive on these kinds of ideals...it's people like YOU, those that set around, and say..its not happened yet, they haven't taken our guns way..it's people like you that elected Obama, who put people like Nancy and Frank in power..its people like you, liberals, who have lead this country down the path its headed today..its people like you, who won't stand up for something you believe in, instead hide behind words and try to inturpid the laws to mean what you want... whether I agree with you or not, at least take a stand!!!! It people like you, who want to talk about all the things they know, all the things they not long buy because the selling company supports gun control..

Let me get this straight....you've quite drinking bud, you don't wear Levis, but you support Obama, his adminstration, and his ideals??? These are the kind of actions and thoughts that have led us to where we are today in this country...

Now, if I'm wrong about you, I'll be the first to apologize to you, here in public, on this forum..but from all your posts, I think that i'm not far off base...

We all have the right to disagree, and have the right to express our opinions...I have no hard feelings for you as I don't know you....I do know that I don't believe I like what you stand for...

I'm not going to engage in a battle of wits with an unarmed opponent LH.

And UNARMED is where we are headed with Nancy, Harry, and Barry in control.........who you continuously defend . I can understand your support, you being a union member, will fare better employment- wise than most in the Stimulus, shop til' ya drop) Package.
That is your choice.
You chose job security over maintaining the basic freedoms our nation has embraced in it's first 200 years.
Well, for most of us, we see Barry's policies as a THREAT to our jobs.
You seek to divide the ranks of NRA members with your neophyte interpretation of current law and case studies.
Yet you fail to see the hypocrisy of this administration.
Their WORDS are designed to appease the public at-large.
Their ACTIONS are designed to appease those who payed to put them in office......liberals, and those who seek an end to our sovereignty,George Soros).

Does banning most centerfire rifle ammunition, classifying it as armor piercing sound like reasonable restriction? Its what he also testified to the Senate.

I've tried to stay out of this, but,

#1 The Constitution, and amendments) IS NOT a 'living document' It says what it means and mean what it says. No 'interpretation' needed.

#2 If LAW is not FOUNDED upon morality, then there is NO REAL LAW. It can be made up as one feels the need to change it...this is the foundation of liberal thinking, they have no foundation, nothing is concrete and everything is subject to whims and wishes. 'Make up the rules as we go, and as whatever we,the liberal thinker) decide is what everyone else needs.'

All this hoarding and stocking of arms and ammo is in preparation for what appears to be inevitable, unfortunately. Liberal thinking is what is causing this to happen. It,liberal thinking) is forcing those with opposing views to prepare to defend their rights based upon the constitution....which isn't based upon the Law of man but of God...ultimate authority and True Law.

When the average, conservative) man is pushed against the wall......all HELL will break loose, we will NOT give up our freedom without a fight.

I hope it never comes to this, but the preparation for it is in full swing. Doesn't matter if we like it or not, it is a fact.

JRS...Thank you for at least clearing up your voting record..From your running down of McCain, it could only be assumed that you had vote for Obama. We all have the right to vote however we feel convicted to vote, but I beleive a person should at least stand his ground and convictions..It had appeared to this point that you were stradling the fence. Glad your on this side! While we may all differ in opinions on this subject, I just wanted to know that you were at least on 'our' side... My apologize to you for assuming otherwise...

Eric Holder has no respect for law, the Constitution or guiding moral princiles. He supports the powerful oligarchy that controls both parties. Along with Scooter Libby he helped Clinton pardon Marc Rich the biggest tax fraud in the nations history who was also guilty of trading with the enemy. He also actively supported Columbian death squads. He isn't as into torture and warrantless wire taps perhaps as Alberto Gonzales and John Yoo. But Habeus Corpus is out still, rendition in. Hopefully he will self destruct with more racial diatribes or some finacial scandal. And we'll get somebody worse.

Rather than drawing battle lines between so called liberals and conservatives, as difficult as it is, more productive discourse would center around the Constitution and support of those who would uphold it regardless of their political stripe. Abolishing the Federal Reserve, returning to sound money has become critical.Return of states rights and representative government, a rational foreign policy enphasizing fair trade to protect our jobs and finacial future - all these issues are central to the second amendment. They are what it's all about. Lets not lose sight of what it was meant to protect.

Well,
It only took a Month for him to break his word to us gunowner and I quote'I won't take the guns away from the folks'. Now maybe G Bush isn't looking so bad. Well you,Who voted for Obama) asked for it and you havn't seen nothing yet!

In case you havn't noticed he is guaranteeing himself reelection in 4 years by paying off his cronies like the Unions, far left loons, with our tax dollars. Mark my words he will get reelected in 4 years, then you will see serious gun laws!

God Bless George Bush!!

jrs......there you go again......spinning the truth.

I didn't need to go to no Federal Building for this information, it's all on the web....thanks algore.

The Federal Assualt Weapons Ban,AWB) was a subtitle for the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994.

Banning certain firearms was only a part of this massive bill.
It also included funding for more police officers, funding for crime prevention, funding for prisons, expanded the death penalty.

YOU only gave the votes for the entire bill.

In amendments that dealt with the firearms ban the guys with the 'R' next to their names voted overwhelmingly against the ban.

When the AWB sunsetted in 2004 what party sought to re-enact it?

Why are the sponsors of virtually all firearm related legislation in recent years affiliated with the Party whose mascot is a jacka$$?

BTW, yeah Biden claimed credit for it, ala Algore with the internet.

I have been a staunch Republican supporter for years, up until recently. Now I have given up on our so-called politicians entirely. Ether Democrats or Republicans, any party, every party. They ALL seem to do the same thing before it's over.

The Republicans are just doing it,throwing away our freedoms) the slowest of all. The last 15 years or so have been horrible no matter what party was in control. It's been down hill rapidly since Reagan and has gotten us to where we are now.

We are loosing our freedoms no matter what party seems to be in control. Our politicians 'negotiate' among themselves for OUR freedom. 'You scratch my back now and I'll owe you one latter.'..... And we loose another small piece of our freedom.

We send some new blood up to Washington and they do OK for a year or two, then you can't tell them apart from the rest of the professional politicians.

There are only a small handful of decent politicians around. Far out numbered by the lousy ones.

We have no true representation in Washington, just a bunch of people that try to stay in power to live off our dime while saying they represent us. Slowly bleeding our freedoms away all the while.

There is a revolution coming...hopefully it will come as peacefully as possible.....But I doubt it will be peaceful, unfortunately.

We need to return to the fundamentals of the Constitution. You cannot depend on the politicians to help you, you better help yourself.

Stock up on the necessities of life. Food, water and ways to protect yourselves and family. Learn to be totally independent of any support other than friends and family. Develop relationships that can sustain each other during the times ahead. Learn about bartering, because your money will not be worth the paper it's written on.

Am I a nutcase? Maybe...but I will be prepared..just in case it all comes crashing down. And if it doesn't, Thank God I'm wrong!
