hogue rifle stock

any of you have experience the Hogue over molded stock.... would like your comments before ordering... it will be for my Ruger frontier rifle in 358 winchester....thank you in advance.... Michel

I found the Hogue to be a very impressive stock for a sporter gun. The action rests in aluminum bedding, and that aluminum block continues out through the fore arm. The "over moulded" material, feels like rubber) is extremely grippy. For a deer, coyote or big game rifle the Hogue is hard to beat. But for varminting off bags it's basically useless.

I bought a Houge overmolded 10/22 stock for my 17 mach2 modified ruger about 3 years ago. The stock has a barrel channel for heavy diameter barrels. The stock is pretty durable and weatherproof, alittle flimsy on the forend with this model. There nothing pretty to look at, they are pure buisness. I do like the feel of the stock when I shoot offhand. I do have a beef with Houges customer service. I ordered the stock directly from Houge, waited 4 weeks so I called them. They had no record of my order, so I ordered it again waited another 3 and a half weeks, called them. Same thing no record! So I cancelled the order and said I would buy it somewhere else, Thats when they sent the stock. SO I sent the box unopened directly back to them. Just because of the service.
I bought it locally, I also have one for my Mini-14. It drops right in.

Those stocks will attract cat hair like a magnet if you have one around.
