Hogue overmolded

Does any one hav any experiance with the hogue overmolded stock. I am concidering them and would like to know what opinion people have of them. Thank you.

I had one and every piece of dust sticks to the rubber,it drove me nuts and the forend of the stock is a little flexable. It was comfy for hunting, but not my cup of tea.I prefer fiberglass or wood.

I have three of them. I love em for hunting and general shooting/plinking. I like the way they feel grippy. I don't care if it gets wet and it's pretty rugged in that they won't ding easily if dropped or knocked over.

I have two with the bedding block and the action bolts up tight in it. I like it so much that I'm putting a Borden ssr rimrock in one chambered in 7-08. This will be my all round one gun rig for hunting.

The other one just has the bedding and pillar blocks. I like it just fine to.

I respect jon's opinion. I plan to only use them for hunting and shooting, not bench work.

The whole surface of the gun is like a S&W rubber revolver grip if you've ever felt that. Slightly squishy, great "gription". The surface can retain fine grit and grime, but then it doesn't scratch like a gloss finish. Stock will remain gripy even in the rain or if your hands are very sweaty. Can be bare-handed more comfortably when it's very, very cold. Overall, like others, I'd only have it on a gun that was spending most of the time getting drizzled on in a very wet climate.

I know the Hogue's personally, they are great people. They are shooters who make products
for shooters. I will always recommend there stuff!

Recreational stock. I loved the mushy recoil pad, but as I got more serious about having a solid shooter, I upgraded to an HS and had is skim bedded.

Not much for me to add that hasn't already been said except to say I love mine. Its on a .308 hunting rifle and has the full bedding block. I do not wear gloves when hunting and love the "gription" . I put a Harris bipod on mine when i take it to the range.

I have a hogue over moulded on a 280AI and I like the feel. It is pillar bedded and if you take enough out from the barrel channel it works good. It is quite heavy compared to a HS precisionor a bell&carlson.

Over all i would say i like it. It really needs extra room under the barrel for use with bipod or when it fires it will come in contact with the barrel.

Don't EVER try to paint one, even with that rubberized paint.... don't ask how I know. The results, you will not like.
