hodgdon powder price increase?

Anyone else hear that hodgdon just increase dealer prices by 14%. The guy I buy my powder from told me they increased it last week.

I cant quote percentages, but every year about
this time, all components take an increase. Its
just to be expected. If you want to pay more,
just wait until tomorrow to buy what you should
have bought today. LDS
Yeah I know it goes up about 2-3% every year but was quoted about 14% this time. Just passing it along since I see some place are still selling at a price that hasn't been increased. It's gonna be about $20 more per 8 lb jug for varget

Well I know the prices from say PV or Midsouth went up a couple of months ago. H4198 from PV was 168 and change and now it's about 181.00.

Guys,
Gotta remember, businesses got used to having windfall sales with the previous resident in the White House. Therefore, the entire "food chain" in the manufacturing industry of reloading components, is taking a hit with probably a decrease in sales since "panic buying" has left the building. I suspect many of those manufacturers bought new or more equipment to keep up with the sales during the Big"O" reign as Chief IDIOT. And now with less sales, they still have to pay the bills. And that means we all get to help out and pay more for components. May not be right, but it's also the price we still pay for putting MORONS and liberals in the White House.

I am a Trump guy but powder would be cheaper under the Croan of Caudaur (Hillary rotten Clinton) for one reason ________VOLUME. Sales have fallen off from 10 -20 percent since Donald Trump took office which is something I figured would happen so now inventory's are growing and sales are down so higher prices instead of lowering it to sell volume again they raise it hoping sales pick up to get a banner profit margin like the last few years.

But I see it coming down because of this. Everybody was reaping their profits. Now when it sits there and gathers dust they will want to over it to get their equity back. Once sales slows at the manufacturers they will have to reduce prices to move product. All the raises of prices were not because cost went up. It was because it would sell and they could make a big profit. Give it time and I think it is going to drop. Might take awhile to get there. It has already been showing up more regular. Matt

I am not so sure that it is profit driven so much as survival oriented. Remember even though the village idiot is gone his damn regulations are still very much alive. Until the EPA and transportation crap is addressed the manufacturers still have to live in the labyrinth of crap invented by the prior socialist regime. I think we are going to have to live with his stench for a very long time before this passes into the dust bin of history assuming it ever does.

As we speak I just heard a report how Trump is absolutely destroying epa regs along with him possibly shrinking the epa to a hotdog stand style dept.LOL

I remember buying H-4350 for $85 for an 8lb! Maybe I'm asking to much.

Joe didn't you work for $10.00 per hour back then .
I paid $ 32.50 for 50 # My $80.00 a week job I could get 2 shopping carts full of groceries for $25.00 .

It is all market driven unless there is an anti-trust conspiracy going on in Finland and other nations supplying powder.

As to local shops, they are basically making a ton of money on the Hazmat fee. One local shop adds 1/4 of the $25??? hazmat fee whether one is purchasing 100 primers or a pound of powder. THAT is pure BS.

Just got in 20lbs of H4350 today it was up nearly $2.50 per pound from my wholesaler. Sold all 20 lbs today!

The democrats really hurt the business and shooters by causing the spikes and drops in demand.
I have used Federal primers going back to 1969.
During the Bill Clinton shortage I bought a lot of Winchester primers because they were about the only thing available.
I shot them up for fun and saved the Federals that I had. Now the Winchester primers are almost gone.

Sounds more like wholesalers upping the price.
My honey hole just got a shipment in straight from hodgdon and i paid $26.42/lb of h4350.
Nabbed 28lbs as they were limitting because hodgdon didn't fill the whole order. Mix of 8lb'rs and 1lb'rs
