Hodgdon Hybrid 100V

Looking for an available powder to play with for loading a 25-06 and a 270. I will be trying 100-117s in the 25-06 and 130-140s in the 270. I have a fair supply of H4350 which will be my first choice. Trying to figure a plan B. RE-19, -22, and 4831 variants aren’t available to purchase. There is a good supply of Hybird 100V available. Never used it, but sounds a lot like a H380 based on description. Any experiences you can share?

I use it in my 257 Roberts with great accuracy and velocity results. H 4350 and slower should yield you good results with 25-06, I run RL 25 in mine until I exhaust that supply. I have been thinking on something on the slow side from the Ramshot line for my 25-06 after the RL 25 runs out. I have checked out the 6.5 Staball for my 280 as well, it shows impressive velocity, accuracy of course is unknown until it gets tested.

VV-160 or VV-165. Cheaper, cleaner burning and accurate as any.
The 5 series of either are good too.

I use it with great results in both a 250-3000 AI shooting 95 Bergers and a 7 MM SAUM shooting 140's..

I've used hybrid for many years in my 2 6.5/.284 handguns. Never any problems with it. It does give me about 100 fps more than WW760 that I originally used. I've taken a little over 600 deer, #2 Cape kudu, lots of other African animals as well as mule deer, Coues, Carmen Mtn, whitetail with these guns & Hybrid.
If you look at Staball specs, it produces more pressure than many other powders. I'll stick with Hybrid.

It’s priced very reasonable compared to other powders.

It’s a decent powder
It can get spooky like R17 so I don’t get overly spicy with it especially in heat.

I have found it is the absolute best powder for 150 grain 270 WIN loads. Equals or exceeds H4350 in lighter bullet loads for that caliber.

No satisfaction in 25-06 or 270 for my purposes. AA-3100 was the bees knees for my 25-06, unfortunately discontinued. Many have told me it is the exact same as XYZ, maybe a lot number, but accuracy and chrono readings differed by enough I found that not to be true.

R-26 in a 270 with a 150 grain bullet, excellent results with it. Hard to find though.

Plenty of H4831 available in the SC version. I bet regular H4831 is dead though.

Used H-100V with great results with 145 gr bullets in my 7/08. Never tried it in my 270 Win. IMR-4831 is my go-to powder in the 270 win with 130 gr bullets.
