Hodgdon Grey B

Any experience using this for 38 SPL. 148 grain HBWC loads or .45ACP 200 grain cast swc loads?

Interested in first hand experience, have found some Hodgon info from older loading manuals on the Highroad site but not much from actual experience with it. Charge weights for the 148 HBWC that I have found are in the 2.8-3.2 grain range .

Searching here for Hodgdon Grey B showed no results.

We load the 38 Spc with 2.9Gr. Win 231 and a Precision Delta 148Gr HBWC. That's our competition load.

I use 2.8 grains of Bulleye in the .38 PPC revolvers with the a Zero 148 HBWC normally and use 231 in the .45 ACP. Have just come by 10 pounds of the "Gray B" that has been properly stored. Have an inquiry in to Hodgdon for data since it is not a current powder and not listed on their load data site. Am of the opinion that the 231 burns cleaner in the .38 but I save it for the 1911. Just looking at the Grey B as an option for economical (at the price it was) plinking loads for the grand kids.
