HM2 Ammo?

Was at the Delaware Cabela's yesterday and there was 17HM2 ammo on the shelf. I assume Hornady has made a run of it. It's been pretty scarce for quite a while.

None, I'm stocked up with Eley and Remington bought years ago when it was cheap.

Amazing self control! After the " shortage years" ,I buy it if I see it. I might have enough powder for the next couple years but if I see Varget or H335, I get a couple pounds. I'm not sure how this election is going to unfold. Darn! Saying that reminds me to check my bullet supply.

The real bitch with the 17's is the split necks from setting over time. If they figured out how to anneal AFTER priming or how to get the primer compound in before necking down, I wouldn't hesitate to stock up. I monitorwhat I have and I keep loosing more from splits. It puts you between a rock and a hard place with them being so scarce.

You might be depressed by the situation where some item (.17M2) is promoted than abandoned in favor of other items as shown by large volumes of .17HMR rounds at LGS'. My Anschutz .17M2 precisely killed many gophers until I ran out of ammo and sits unused in the back of my gun safe since 2006.

A .17M2 should be able to be re-barreled to .22LR (CCI Stinger's would be a disappointment compared to the .17 M2).
