Yep, cheaper than dirt. And he's still in business. His work shrank my group sizes by half. The rifle was stolen out of my house a few years ago (and a lot of other guns and other stuff) but I got it all back from the police. I would have been happy to take insurance settlement for most of it, but not that 77/22. I nearly cried when they got it back. Ruger really hit it out of the park with the 77/22 and variants.

Yeah thats why i jumped on this deal. Its the Stainless All weather model. The bare factory rifle alone is around +/- $700. Then throw in a SS Lilja 3 groove barrel with a brake installed, custom Redding dies, and some brass, you could easily tack on another $700+ to that price tag if i were to pay for it all new myself. When i saw $525 for it all plus a scope and Ruger SS rings in the local paper, I had to have it. I was willing to buy it with the Millett 4-16 scope cuz i didnt want to lose the rifle to someone else, but i didnt need it or really want it. I got him to knock off $100 to sell without the scope. He was still gonna give me the rings, but i didnt need those either. Final price was $425. So that was my smokin deal of this century

I bought my 77/22 VSSL (varmint stainless laminated) 22 WMR in a local sport shop, lightly used, for $279. But that was nearly 20 years ago. I think they were going new then for well less than $500.

Yeah times have changed from 20 years ago. Nothing is getting any cheaper these days. Smokin deals are very few and far between anymore.
