High power competition rule question

Erud's comment is not valid. That does explain why he is always walking into stuff. :D

I started out cutting pieces from a milk jug and moving them around. You want the light to get through to prevent strain or having your sighting eye over compensate.

FTFY. Erik is generally bumping into things, and people, but sometimes I think he does it on purpose! ;)

In my experience, I have had the same issue, though I need to take Erik's advice and get some shooting glasses and set them up appropriately (expensive as they are). The eyes need to be protected. Until that time, I usually just bend the left side of the brim of my hat down and that obscures my line of sight enough. I am, however RE/RH.

Your using WAY to big of Blinder if you can not see through the spotting scope but yet it obscures your sighting picture. You only need just a little something ( Anything) in the top left corner of the glasses or if no glasses, that part of the left eye socket.
I am also Cross Eye dominant have Zero problem with making this work with a piece of cardboard ( piece of my old ammo box flap of cardboard) shoved up into the headband of my hat. Seems to be working for 20 years of shooting XTC matches.
plus having that huge blinder will impede you from seeing what any flags are doing that would be in that line of sight by just lifting your head a little.
Personally I would skip the blinder on the scope in favor of simplicity a small blinder on your Person.

Hope this finds you well and I imagine you will get it worked out.

Thanks again to all. I tried taping the top half of my shooting glasses in a dry fire setup at home and it looks like that will work, and will have the added benefit of better visibility of the wind flags as Rtheurer stated. I'll have to wait a week to try it out on the range but I think you all provided me with a good solution. FYI up until this time I was using a clip-on to my shooting glasses that I had cut down to about 1/2 inch width... small, but oriented vertically instead of horizontally as in the top half tape solution.
