Hey Guys, check out the new Gun of the Week Article -- .308 Tubegun

Trying to get back on track with some major stories in the next few week. We just released a detailed story on a "multi-purpose" .308 Win Tubegun. Built by Mark LaFevers, the gun has proven very accurate. Mark shot a 149-10X at 800 yards with it today -- off his home-made bipod.

One interesting element of the story is that Mark chambered the barrel and assembled the gun himself. (He also built the muzzle brake, bag riders, and scope rings). This was the first gun Mark chambered and it came out really well because he did his homework before he started drilling steel. You can read how Mark learned how to chamber a barrel using a modern flushing system.

Would like too try a Tubegun for my Savage Target action BUT not liking to have too GLUE the action into the stock as if not liking the set up would rather sell the stock and keep the action and barrel

With Eliseo's tubegun stocks, no glue-in is needed. The Savage stock is a bit different from the Remington type, check it out at Gary Eliseo's site www.competitionshootingstuff.com

The new article is terrific, well worth the time to read and digest. The Tubegun platform is taking over Highpower shooting quickly.

Yes, it's a lot of work for Paul to transfer everything over, but it's coming along. He's at the SHOT Show right now, so don't look for that to become a top priority. Eventually...

Yes, enjoyed the read tremendously! Keep those good articals coming. I may build a tube gun , one of these days. The Eliseo 'platform' looks like the way to go, for me anyway.

I also liked the review very much. I guess the big question for me is other than the look, what sets the tube guns apart from other stocks? Is it weight, I don't think so. Is the action and or barrel free floated using a v block? What makes them beter than the rest?

I think people like the fact that it's modular, you can get one quickly, you don't need to bed it and you can wrench it together yourself. Others probably like the ergonomics of the pistol grip (AR-15 like).
