Brought more rifles than may be legal. Also a trailer/camper- a first. Last 17 years on the ground or in the truck bed. This year - sleeping indoors and shaving indoors- not using the truck mirror to shave this time. 22-243; 73g ELD’s. 22 BR, w 55g Blitzkings. wow flat hard hitting!!
windy here! 22-250 and 6X47 w 105’s Lapua next day or so. random post. thoughts. from an accurate shooter- shooting prone w Harris bipod & 2 TAB bags- in the cow poop, cactus, sage and rattlers. Good to be here.

Must be nice, right between squeeks to the west and pd's to the east. I think we beat you in quantity tho, 2 of us, only 10 rifles. Just right for 4 days, had a breeze too. I believe that is standard procedure there. lol We nicknamed the trip the 4-4-4 trip. 4 days driving, 4 days shooting, 4 k driving.

Thanks for posting. I went in '18 and want to go back sooner rather than later. LOL. I don't thing I could lay on the ground and get back up w/o some help, a shooting platform of any type is a good thing to have.

Glad it was a good trip.

A folding table and a folding chair is a huge upgrade!

Or.......use these brackets & build UR own real portable table

When 2 shooters, 1 6' folding table and 2 chairs, 1 swiveling shooting bench/chair. Table and chairs for lunch and breaks, shooting with a outers varminter rest. 800 miles drive 1, shoot 3-4,drive1.

Dakotas- ha! tried the Tikka .222. fun to 200 yds. a great ill shooter!! entire rifle weighs less than a MTU bbl - alone. I hike out here, so. 6 lb rig is sweet!
A stiff wind really lets you know - you may not be the shooter you think you are. I try to find a hill out here w wind at my 6. course
you may be shooting 360 and that is a challenge. uh hold right 18”? missed by 3 feet, so lets hold LEFT this next time. couple thoughts- 53g vmax in a 223 / 1:9 is a good combination. Hard to beat a 22-250 when a breeze picks up. the best ever pd cartridge?! just hold on fur - ha ha! today was calm & shot w the Rem 5R 223. 14x was plenty mag. out to 300+ yds.

Course depends on mirage and the light. Evening sun is maybe the best for this sort of thing. Today
— felt like I could be arrested for premeditated murder. :) ha!

pic of Sako 75 22 250. hope my posts are of use, information or a respite for the times of late
grateful to be out here.

I was recently back in ND (my old stomping grounds) for the first time in nearly 12 years. I can’t believe how much Bismarck-Mandan has blown up. Oil money I suppose.

How could they possibly see ya camouflaged in yer chair there Bill. Lol

Last 17 years on the ground or in the truck bed.
I remember those days - and of doing most of my shooting from the prone position. Now - I shoot from a rotating shooting table with a bass-boat seat and use a toggle rest. At my age, there will be NO going back!

Hey I brought a Coyote Jake rotating bench out "here" for few years. Course I built my own benchtop. wow, heavy. a superb bench. solid in all regards. stays home...
For me - walking few miles with a rifle or two, mat, bipod, 2 qts water, binos, + 2 rear bags 100 rds ammo- was better.
Just to feel this place. cactus, dirt, scoria, cheatgrass. cow poop. the odd rattler. looking for that $1.00 ea - formed brass - in the tan grass. My rotating bench is on standby. :)
