Help with ladder test results

Had read about this ladder test for load development. Tried it for the first time and i am having a little trouble desifering it. I feel like im going to want to start testing loads between 22.9-23.8 grs. I could only get out to 300 yds. Was shooting a rem. .223, hornady 69gr hpbt with varget powder. Was sunny and cool with very high wind coming from behind. Thank you any help.

I would load 3 @ 25.0,25.1,25.2,25.3 and 25.4. The point of all this is to find a node that a little variance in charge will not effect the vertical. If there all the same elevation i would load a tenth down from where it starts to change impact. Then adjust the ither variables to tighten up the group. Seating depth. Neck tension if yoh so choose

I believe the lower node of 23.2 to 23.8 will give you better vertical and accuracy. It will obviously be slower but more consistent.

Another quick question. At what range do you usually do this test at? The range i shoot at only goes to 300. On top of that its used up most of the time with matches so even getting on it can be hard unless i can go during the week. The second range i shoot at is a 1000 yr silhouette range which is where i would like to be shooting more. Problem is its 5.5 hours away. Makes it hard to get to to test 15 rounds. Thanks again for any help.

I agree with this evaluation also. I do not look at horizontal spread at all in ladder tests, just vertical dispersion and go as high as I can without pressure indicators. JMHO

Thank you all very much with your help. I think i have it narrowed down to testiing seating depths now. I really appreciate all the thoughts and direction in which way to go.
