Help with Impact Sport Hearing protection

I have a pair of Howard Leight Impact Sport muffs. The side opposite the volume control has stopped working. Does anyone know where I can send them for repair? I cannot find the instructions/warranty/ etc. so I'm in the dark. The Howard Leight website is no help at all since you cannot contact them.

Works on my browser-of-choice.

I didn't save the packaging that came with mine; it's possible they may not warranty them but you can certainly ask.

Short of that if you have the sales receipt you may be able to go back to the place you bought them from for a replacement if they're less than 30 days old.

If you bought them with a credit card you may have warranty coverage beyond whatever the manufacturer provides; some card companies, notably AmEx) provide warranty coverage on products purchased with their cards.

Here's contact info for the parent company:

I just bought a set last week. I don't have the package, but I saved the book. Here are the exact words out of the book...

Guarantee
There is a one year guarantee against defects in material and workmanship. The guarantee does not cover damage caused by misuse, abuse or unauthorized modifications. TO OBTAIN GUARANTEE, the guarantee certificate must be properly filled in by the dealer and then sent in together with the faulty product.

That's all it says about a guarantee.

==

In the back of the book, there's a blank sheet,GUARANTEE CARD) where the dealer would fill in some information, product, serial #, dealer, date of purchase, and fault reason). The dealer would send that sheet to the manufacturer with the defective product.

The contact info in the back of the book:

Howard Leight
A Bacou Dalloz Company
900 Douglas Pike
Smithfield, RI 02917, USA
Tel +1 800 692 0833

Sounds to me like you would need to return the product to the place you bought it from along with the 'guarantee card' that's in the book that you don't currently have.

Walt

PS, if you need a copy of the guarantee card, I'm sure I can find a way to get it to you.,for example, copy it and mail it to you)

Walt,

Thanks for the info.
You know by the time I go through all that, pay shipping back to the dealer, then shipping from the dealer to the repair facility, then pay the repair bill plus shipping back to myself or the dealer I might as well throw them away and just pay another $49.00 including free shipping from Optics Planet and just be done with it.
Sometimes it just isn't worth the bother.
Thanks for the info though, I do appreciate it and it has helped me make a decision.

Danny: I would not throw them away: they are still usable as 'regular' ear muffs/ without the hearing ability. Use them as spares?

For what they cost new, forget having the busted pair fixed. One 'ear' still works; that's 100% better than none!

Once you buy another pair you'll have a spare to keep in your car or pit kit for when it rains. Or for a buddy who tags along some afternoon.

One ear speaker not working could, possibly. be a very simple fix, loose wire). Fiddle around with the connections on the non-working side and see if anything changes.

I would at least call sperian products and let them know you are having a problem with one of their products. How can a company improve existing products with out knowing about existing problems.

Just my .02
