Help with formula to calculate center of gravity offset in a bullet

Guys, archive.org is a site that violates copyright on principle. Please consider buying a copy if you like the contents. Bob McCoy was one of America's great ballisticians, and his book has played a large part in the explosion of ballistics knowledge that we are all benefiting from today. His work deserves at least the token of thanks that the royalties provide. Off my soapbox now.

I would not want to support, use, or even link to a site that does as you describe.

Archive.org is a member of the American Library Association, and receives funding from, among other organizations, the FCC.

Can you provide documentation to support your assertion?

Archive.org removed copyrighted recordings of the Grateful Dead in 2005 when requested to do so.

Not exactly, but I've had to deal with their "wayback machine", which is what turned me off to their tactics. They have posted articles from websites I've run and I know for certain they didn't ask and it's definitely copyrighted. They're don't tell you they do it, but they'll stop if you tell them to. You have to opt out of something you don't know exists. That's pretty sleazy.

They're not nearly as bad as some similar organizations, and much (most?) of what archive.org has is legitimately in the public domain or they have permission. And they do actually remove stuff (unlike some others I won't mention). But some of stuff on there is not legitimate. Unless I'm mistaken, McCoy's book is an example of that. Google "archive.org copyright infringement", and you'll see that they walk a very fine legal line as they describe here: https://blog.archive.org/2016/02/24/fair-use-access-to-all-human-knowledge/ . I don't think anyone would honestly consider copying an entire work and posting it without comment is fair use.

It's not my intent to browbeat anyone, but I think a lot of folks might be downloading his book not knowing that it's likely a pirated version, or at least a gray area. If someone knows otherwise (that the book was released to the public domain), I take it all back.

In any case, for people who like the book, I would encourage buying copy just to keep it in print and get it distributed. It's a classic that needs to be preserved. Maybe archive.org does that in a twisted way, but I feel like there's a better way to go about it.
