Help with die maker

I am trying to have a custom 300 NMI die made by Mark Spencer of Brown Machine. He has had my things for 13 months. He is getting very unpleasant to deal with. I have come this far and I hate to back out. At this point I believe I will never see this project completed. But another 4 month wait with Whidden is not ideal at this time either. Has anyone ever had a die made by Mark Spencer? Does he indeed make dies? I am so baffled I don't know what to do anymore. I missed the 2021 ELR season and deer hunting season. (Yes, I do hunt with that gun;). Should I cut my losses now so that I can shoot in 2022? Thank you for any guidance.

Having been in your shoes over a Rifle for almost 3 years ! it Sucks .
I was about to give up ,I was getting older and ill . I talked to a Lawyer Friend and that would be out of State Hell.
I wrote a letter ( calls not working) and was ready to send it ! the clouds parted.
I got a call from the Gunsmith He went on about being a Bad Guy and so Sorry.

The Happy Ending by a stroke of Luck .
I not only got the Rifle and Cash back ?
Great Rifle ! Not after 3 years .............

This was not the only time this happen dealing with shooting related equipment .

Best of Luck

Wow, I thought I was in a bad spot! Sorry to hear about your issue. But your comment solidified what my gut tells me. I won't be getting this die anytime soon. If I want to shoot this gun I must go with a reputable source. I greatly appreciate your response. It was helpful.

Curious on a few details...

You supplied the blank and reamer to do this to him? He is making it from a print or fired case?

I could not imagine waiting on anything for three years that is offensive and unacceptable!!!

Check with Bullet Central. They may stock a 300NMI die, unless there is a reason you need a custom die. If you do need a custom die, Hornady is good at it, too. I don't know if their delivery is any better than Whidden's, though.

Is there something special about your chamber?

The only thing special about it is the shoulder angle. I’ve seen 2 or 3 different ones. Hornady made the first set with the reamer print. I get clickers.

Clickers are pretty common on 6.5 PRC. Look at post #10 on this thread and click on the link to the thread on the other forum for more info. You might be chasing your tail trying to solve it with another sizing die.

I waited 21 year to get an original 1886 Win back. Project was to take the shot our 40-65 barrel off, make a 45-90 barrel, fit it, case color it and reassemble. A friend of mine but eccentric. I kept watching the dust depth grow on the pile of parts on a workbench. Eventually it all came together and looks great and shoots the same. But....:)

I knew where it was and was in no rush...darn good thing :)

21 years, you win!

Unless someone tightened up the base diameter on your 300 NMI, then you can make dies that work. The 300 NMI does not have the same problem as the PRC does, actually nothing Im aware of does. The clicker problem with the 300 NM or NMI is because you have to squeeze that case a lot harder than others and too many use a one size fits all approach to die making. Hornady custom shop makes a very good die, so long as you spec it right. BC makes great dies, I have spec'd out a few of theirs including the 300 NMI's.
