Help with caliber choice

6.5prc,6.5saum,7saum, 300wsm if want to open up your bolt face or have a different bolt fitted. You might as well experience the benefits and drawbacks of something bigger. You’ll want a muzzle brake or two. Radial(less effective) and/or a rear angle port type( louder, nasty blast at your shootin buddies). Keep the one you like. Not hard to sell off with a common thread.

Let us know how your choice works out.

I figured to benefit from the 6.5 saum/prc you need a long action, or at least a short with a wyatts extended box mag. The 7 and 30’s seem to need medium at least to be fully functional. I’d have no problem getting another bolt to do a 7 saum, 6.5 saum or something but want to be running in a mag

Haha wow the 6br has some serious following lol. Never even crossed my mind since I already have a 6mm. Why would I want the 6br too?

I was thinking 25 creed with the 131’s
A couple of downsides to any quarter bore is poor quality bullet selection and barrel twist selection. The 25s are slowly starting to catch up, but the 6 and 6.5 MMs will currently do anything a quarter bore will do and do it easier.

I agree, but I figured I can get my hands on lots of the 131’s so that’s not my issue. Alpha makes brass which is excellent brass and I currently have 6 and a 6.5 so unless there was another 6 or 6.5 that is significantly different then I think they might be out. The 22 seems awesome but I’m worried about barrel life. Might spin one up after for the varmint side of things

I can’t believe the br guys! It never even crossed my mind. Especially with the 6 creed in the line up already. I’m pushing the 105’s at 3130 FPS with a sd of 7 so I’m pretty happy with it. I’m worried with running a br to run into the feeding problems that go with it and that it won’t benefit me in any way over my 6 creed. That’s why I was looking for something a bit different. I will most likely chamber more then 1 barrel but I was looking to start with 1 to try the Curtis out

I'll elaborate some. Until I built my 22BR, I thought that I wasn't a terribly great shooter. All the fliers and unexplained shots I chalked up to my lack of ability. I built my 22BR and suddenly, those fliers just didn't happen. When the wind flags were all pointed in the same direction, the bullet goes where the crosshairs are pointed when I break the trigger. The feeling of rock solid repeatability is unlike anything else I've shot and it's altered my perception of what is an acceptable level of accuracy from a rifle.
