I'm sure this info is to be found somewhere on this site but I guess I just haven't searched the right thread so please bare with me.
I wish to build a 6mmBR hunter/repeater rifle based around the McMillan "Lazzeroni Thumbhole Sporter" stock. As the stock configuration, and weight of) is the second most important aspect of this project I'm stuck with this stock and the action it can be factory machined to accommodate: Remington.
Does anyone know for sure if the standard 6mmBR round will feed/cycle and eject without problems through the appropriate Remington action for this length of case? Ideally I would like to be able to get 4 rounds under the bolt with one in the chamber to enable meaningful participation in my rifle club's "5 shots to be fired in 60 seconds" competition.
