Help, Testing Modified AR 15/10 bolt without Gas Rings

I'm new to this board but thought I would find someone to help test/verify an idea to get an AR 10 based rifle to shoot better, or even the AR 15.

About 5 or 6 years ago I modified my DPMS LR bolt to work without gas rings. The rifle cycles fine and never had a malfunction since getting rid of the gas rings. What I did was to have the slot welded up and machined to a .001 slip fit back into the carrier.

The first time I shot the rifle at 600yds after the mod I fired a 200, before the mod my best was maybe a 194. At 1,000yds the rifle holds elevation very well to equal what I could of done with a bolt action rifle. I have posted scores as high a 438 in a Palma match and a 196 at 1,000yds all with irons.

I did the same mod to an Ar 15 bolt and that cycles just fine as well. I fired 55g Ball, 69g Fed match, LR77g LC, Black Hills 80g match. The rifle cycles and locks to the rear every time.

But, I'm just to busy and with winter time in ND, I have a hard time testing and lack of ranges as well.

Does anyone want to give it a try and post some results?

It was a DPMS bolt. The AR 15 bolt was GI I believe. Just looking for someone other myself to try it out, I can let you borrow it for awhile, but would like it back in the spring or sooner.
