Of all the powders I tried Reloader 33 gave me the best velocities and accuracy. I am using 300 grain Bergers and Federal 215 Primers. The reloader powder gave me over a 100 fps more with less pressure. Matt

cheers for that lots of guys here use vit n165 but we have here over the pond are real shortage of powder have you tried the imr ?? or rumber ???

I used Retumbo, H1000 and Us869 and by far the best was RE 33. It clearly gave better accuracy and less pressure. My testing was done at 1000 yards and the Re 33 shot in the 4 to 5 inch range. The H1000 was the second best but it shot in the 6 to 7 inch range. I got the 3000 feet a second with the Re33 and a 300 grain that I was looking for. I had no pressure. Mine is an improved version but that only gains you 100 fps. I went 3050 and had no pressure. I had to back down a grain because I had the first generation Bergers and you can't run them over 3000 till you get slump on the bullet. We also put this in an 338 Ultra IMP. and got 3000 with a 300 Berger with no pressure. Matt

hi guys cheers for that think the h1000 starting to look good but im open to ideas going to be initialy using to 600 metres ish first for deer then step it up we have the problem here in the uk theres not many people to play out with and most use lightweight rifles so they dont hurt there glass shoulders and dodgy knees ;D i spent half a lifetime using the l96a1 and the l115ai all over the world so id take the extra pounds anyday when the s@it hits the fan he who reaches father wins down range

do you think the re 33 will be ok with the 250 gr or is it better at heavier bullets . i cant try anything yet as action still at walther having a barrel made and fitted then its away for coating and to be built up then the fun starts !!!!

If you're going to work up a load you should at least try a couple different powders and a few different bullets(different weights as well). You never know what your barrel/chamber/action are going to like the best.

cheers guys for that ive just got to be careful ref bullets as to adhere to the conditions of firearms in uk all game must be hunted with factory authorised expanding bullets so can be limited to types and weights if you use non expanders here and it all goes wrong you lose your liscence and serious implications
