2 less grains of capacity than normal? Or it holds 2 more than normal? And what is OBT?That extra 2 grains of case capacity put your pressures a little over max at 62.7K which is very doable. The OBT is a little off but from what you are saying I would do seating depth testing at this charge and see if you can't tighten up the groups a little more.
I cant go any deeper due to falling out of the accuracy range. Any longer they dont fit in the mag. Also its already compressed so i dont want to go deeper and raise anymore pressure. I am plum happy with the groups as most shots are 300yds and under for its use. I just wanted to get a idea of what u guys though. And i much appreciate it. Now as far as the 62.7k psi that quickload has as over pressure shouldnt it be over pressure if above 64k psi? Im sorry if it sounds stupid but i have yet to use it and understand it in depth.Your primers look very good I would shoot it and work on seating depth.
I put a Harrell's tuner brake on my lightweight 308 deer rifle. Tuner and brake both did there job BUT, noise is extreme! I needed foamy plugs under muffs. Even my neighbor at the next bench was giving me the stink eye. Not for hunting. Mike AI agree that your groups are good enough now. If you had to drop the charge weight a bit, they are way off. I was just asking if a tuner might be a good solution for this rifle? I've never had experience with one. I was hoping a forum member that uses them might weigh in. Harrell's sells tuner brakes quite reasonable. Might be an option?
I have brakes on all my hunting rifles. Electronic muffs good enough for me on occasional shot. Wrecked my ears shooting a short barrel 243 without brake from my walk out garage door. Of course no ear protection on. My ears have ringing ever since! Oh well, at my age it's not the end of the world.I put a Harrell's tuner brake on my lightweight 308 deer rifle. Sounds like you're there then. I'd shoot it.i have run it down .030" shorter in increments of .005" and pressure went up flat primers and accuracy fell off about .010" shorter. 3 shots measure .250" center to center. pretty good for a factory gun.
