Help me out with which 6

I'm a bit nervous on the x284 as have a hart tubed 6.5x284 here that will not push a 140 over 2850 without extreme pressure no matter what I feed it and a pair of 260ai's that will hit 2900 with several powders and no real signs of trouble. This is my first 6.5x284 but it's disappointing after a bunch of 260ai's that scoot along accurately on less powder.
In mine(6-284s) I use a lot of H 1000, N170. I'm not sure what elevation you're at (I'm at 1242) but my next barrel will be a 9 twist. My hunting buddy shoots a 240 Wea. 10 twist and it stabilizes 103-105s just fine. I'm going for the 108-115 range..we'll see.

I have a couple 6XC’s and use them in R700 LA with no ill side effects. They feed just fine. I’ve run 103 gr -115 gr with no issues. You have the XC brass go with it or look for some other excuse to go with something different. You can never have enough of anything except trouble. Good Luck on Your Search.
Are you feeding your xc from a bdl or aics type mag?

I would say you probably got a slow barrel, I know my buddy last year built 3 7FCP's last year and his was a HART barrel and was slower than the others, he just chambered up another barrel for himself, different brand, and velocity is back to where it should be. Not saying all HARTS are slow, you can get a slow barrel in any brand.

I have a long action and a xlr mag fed chassis. I am building a do all hunting rig for my son. I have 243, 6xc and 6x284 reamers and 7, 7.5 and 8 twist tubes. I'm heavy on new xc brass but not sure how reliably that may feed. Anyone done an xc on a long action?
I had a barrel chambered in 6XC for my long action Defiance, and it sits in an ACC chassis. Feeding has been flawless with AICS magazines and I have a single shot sled for it if I decide to take it to a mid range match. It has worked out very well and I have no complaints.

That said, @Bill Norris had a great suggestion with the .243 AI. This chambering will give you another gear in the 6mm, bringing the upper nodes into easy reach and excellent brass is available. A well-matched combination of chamber, dies, and barrel will deliver phenomenal accuracy. 3,400 with a 105 is not a problem for the .243 AI. You won't be able to use your XC brass, but it's an option that you may want to consider. The XC will feed more reliably out of a magazine, all other things being equal.

The decision for me would be decided by what the free bore on each reamer you have is, you have fast twist barrels and want to be able to hunt with it, I would let the reamer with the best free bore for heavy high BC bullets dictate what I built.
