Help me on F class Open build please

Do you understand that .284 will put you in open class? .223 and .308 are the only ones allowed in F/TR. I've seen guys shoot open class with bipod tactical rifles, just to have fun and experience. I've also seen guys with AR style rifles in 6.5 creedmore and Grendel. They had to shoot open class too.

Sir,
I believe the OP posted asking about FClass open.

Ok so I am looking at getting into F/TR competitions and will be building two guns starting in January. One will be the basic Remington 700 that I will true and put into a new stock used for hunting. Now here is where I need your alls help. The second gun I a building to use for F/TR and have been doing a bunch of reading but haven't found exactly what I am looking for.

I believe he is asking about both as per his above opening statement. His main questions are F/TR related.

I originally was asking about F/TR but realized I had to use .308 which I didn't know when I first started researching. I will be using the gun I build for open due to not wanting to use a .308 or .223. As I have doing more research I am going with a repeater in 6.5 creedmoor due to still being good ballistics and can get good factory ammo until I can get a reloading press.

I am a newcomer to the F Class Open game. I approached things differently, and probably put the cart before the horse. I wanted a 3 lug BAT RB, LP, RE action. I just wanted one... So, for reasons which are my own, I bought it. It is all I had ever hoped it would be. It is beautiful, tight, and just WOW! If you have never owned a custom action, just the inspection of the thing made me very happy. I'm still waiting to get the $$$ to buy a stock and a scope, so I haven't even shot it yet. (Maybe next year...)

Then I started thinking, "why did I do that?" "What will I do with this action?" So I found F Class Open.

I had wanted a 6.5x47 Lapua since they came out way back when, and determined that if ever I made a custom build, it would be in that caliber. So... Thankfully Lester Bruno put a Brux barrel on my BAT action, and I am pleased as far as the eye can see.

If you buy a BAT action and build a super accurate rifle, I think you will always be able to "find a use for it." Simpliy shooting something that shoots that well should be enough. If you shoot in competition, that's great too. The way I see it is, even if I only bring it out a couple times each year, I will always be smiling! ;D

If the time comes that I don't smile anymore, I'll sell it and move on to something different.
