Help Me Choose a Hunting Rifle Scope

I think youve looked at the best ffp scopes and as youve seen for your purposes you wont be happy. They have their place and a hunting rifle at dawn/dusk isnt it.

+1

The FFP Gen2Mildot reticle in my aforementioned Premier 3-15x50 looks exactly like a standard heavy duplex on low power. And the center + aiming point can be illuminated, if needed.

I hunt coyotes at night with only a flashlight, and the Gen2Mildot stands out beautifully with very minimal light contrast. Far & away, it is the most simply effective FFP reticle I've ever used to hunt with...

Has anybody ever side mounted a red dot on a hunting rifle (similar to what is done with ARs)? This would help the field of view issue. It would probably get caught on everything and shooting a .300 win mag quickly held sideways may end badly. It would certainly be awkward and take some getting used to. Just a crazy idea.

When I go to high mag on a hunting rifle, its for a long shot when I want a fine crosshair for precise aiming.
When I go to low mag on a hunting rifle, its for close shots usually in dark timber when I want a thick bold crosshair for aiming.

A FFP scope does just the opposite.

I have SFP on my hunting rifles.

Agreed, FFP is kinda backwards. They really should make more dual focal plane scopes. If we can put a man on the moon...

How do you typically adjust for wind Sim?
