Help identify Rem 700 s/a kevlar stock

I picked up a rifle today and this stock was on it. I can not figure out who made it. It is Kevlar and weights approximately 2 lb 3 oz. Black spackle finish with aluminum pillars with a a unique rear tang area for a 700. It has a Decelerator pad. Any idea who made it would be appreciated. I want to know who may have produced it. Thanks in advance. Tom

Looks like a Brown Precision to me. I have one from the early 80’s. Mine was purchased as an 80% straight out of the mold.

Thank you for your reply. I think it is to heavy for a Brown. It was described as a KS style. I know it is not a KS Rem stock. It has a unique flat at the rear tang area and the action sits slightly below the surface. It is a quality stock, just would like to know who actually made it. You feel it is a Brown.

Looks to me like someone skim bedded an H&S stock. You can see what looks like the bedding material along the sides and tang.

It just has the classic shape of a Brown but I'm not absolutely sure. There also haven't been many full kevlar skinned stocks out there that I can think of other than Brown either. Does it appear to be a 100% kevlar skin?

Yes and it has the hollow sound filled with foam, when tapped on at the butt . I am stumped on it.

Not a HS, no block under the bedding. Thanks for the reply.

My guess is it's Bell and Carlson. They seemed to be the predominant stock choice for Remington on their special run models before the high-end custom shop offerings. I have/ had a model 7 FS ( mfr. ?), a couple 700 LVSF's ( Bell & Carlson), and a custom shop 700 KS 1999 (McMillan). The shape and especially the texture mimic the 700 LVSF. Also I believe it was bedded after it left the factory. I doubt it's an aramid model - those were the worst RP ever offered- heavy as a boat anchor and ugly so the only reason you woulld want to know who made it is to ask for your money back- they were that bad.

It is a quality stock and lite weight. I agree that it has been bedded after leaving the factory whom ever made it. The only thing that throws me off on it, most of the stocks from B&C had Remington on the butt pad. It could have been changed, but it appears factory due to the finish.

I do remember the factory Remingtons, there was the RS which was a injected Rinite by Six Enterprises and heavy. The FS model which was made by B&C out of Armid fiber, which was much less weight. Maybe it is the FS model by B&C. Both stocks were ahead of there time before it was common for composite stocks on factory rifles. I do remember the FS model as well. I remember both of them came in a camo painted finish.

It's not a Brown Precision, I can determine that by the cut of the ejection port; I've owned several of them. I was leaning toward McMillan, but with the weight given, I'd agree with others in saying it's a Bell & Carlson.

I checked the one LVSF I have on hand and it has "Decelerator" on the pad- but I recall the original pad was from when Remington had the problem with "uncured rubber" and as such I had the replaced the pad.

I want to thank all in trying to help me determine who may have made this stock, I do know it is a lite and a quality stock. I have posted it in the classifieds, so maybe someone will put it on a 700 to cut weight and make a solid hunting stock.

Thanks to all and Merry Christmas,

Tom

Do I see ball endmill marks in front of the recoil lug recess? If so that would make it a McMillan.
For some reason that stock looks very familiar.
