Help identify old powder from a barrel.

My opinion is to not throw it out. I have 4-5 lbs that I "think" is IMR 4831 myself. If things get bad "which of course I hope they don't" That stuff will be useable. The research is not really that hard. As Riflewoman states, you can find what it's good for in a safe manor. Gary
 
If you have had it stored for 20 some odd years and don't know what it is, then be safe and fertilize your lawn with it. Not worth guessing one what it is and injuring your firearm or your body.
