Help for new 600 yard shooter?

I'm going to be shooting a 6br at our club's 600 yard matches, and am just getting started.

I'll probably go with a Savage model 12 to start with. Question: Savage makes an F class rifle and a Bench Rest model....the F class is heavier and seems more substantial overall. Can I use the F Class Savage rifle for 600 bench rest matches? Many thanks.

Is It IBS or NBRSA? they have weight limits 17 and 16.5 LB for light gun, no limit for heavy gun.
