Help deciding on new scope

Choosing between the Leupold Vx-5HD and the Vx-6HD. looking at 3x15 or 4x20 with firedot. Is the price difference worth it? My longest shot might be 700 yards under my present hunting conditions. I have also considered the Swarovski Z5 (currently using two Z3's) but will be moving to new scope.

Please - not interested in any other brand... though I know there are a lot of good ones out there. But, I really would like input on these two - or 3 to include the Z5 as you have experience.

Thanks!

UPDATE: I ordered a VX-6hd 3-18x50 w/firedot today. Happy hunting all.,

When you say worth it, what are you referring to, Clarity? Reticle?, at this point, it's just about all personal preference. What do you like is the question

I had a 4-24x52 VX6 HD.
Thought the glass was great, no problem seeing the reticle in legal shooting hours without illumination.

Big fan of the Alumina scope caps, gives you a little more options for ring height and scope clearance if that is an issue. Plus it is just a clean look compared to Tenebrex and others.

From my understanding the glass is the same in the two models. The throw lever is a nice option.

Wasn’t a fan of the anti cant system, seemed like you could cant the scope a good bit before the reticle blinked, I prefer an external bubble level. Really didn’t care for the illumination control altogether. Prefer a dial you spin to the desired intensity level over their push button system.

I've been using a vx6hd 3/18x44 for a few years now. It has been a great scope. So far it has not lost zero and seems to dial fine at the range, haven't had to dial in the field yet. I've heard of reports of them not holding zero but I haven't seen it yet, hope I don't especially while shooting at an animal.
