Long or short action?

Regardless, more than likely off of a fancier model 116 or 16. Suspect this is a 116 long action because of the cross bolting in the stock (black dots).

This stock had a hinged floorplate or a 3 or 4 round magazine.

looks like a stock off of a 14 or 114 American classic model to me. Far as I am aware this was the only model offered with the checkered American walnut. Looks to be inlet for one of the newer center feed detach mags or the metal hinged floor plate.

I have one very similar but made for internal stagger feed magazine, and has the Savage Indian head logo laser etched in the stock. Similar wood and finish.
