Help be build my next rifle (Long range, long action)

Everyone knows someone but I was in a similar situation and called Marc at short action custom and ended up with a 6.5 x 47L that I loved and rarely pick up any of my 308s again. I liked it so much I had him do another in 6xc. Any of the 6.5s (.264) will work and I don’t miss the recoil at all..,

I've built (2) customs, should say had built
280 AI Built by Eric Andersen "Blue Mountain Precision", I picked all the hardware http://bluemountainprecision.com/
300 RUM Jim Borden "Borden Accuracy" https://bordenrifles.com/
Love both!

280 AI was a fun project
: McMillian Stock "Game Hunter"
: Defiance "Deviant Hunter Ultra Light Action with 3 position safety
: Jewel "Varmint Hunter" Trigger
: Badger Long Action M4 Triger Guard
: Bartlein 3B Light Bull Fluted Barrel 26" 1-9
: Hawkins Precision Muzzle Brake
: Hawkins Precision Rings
: Swavorski X5I 5x25-56
: BT46-LW17 PSR Atlas Bipod
: Flatline Sniper bubble level and Sniper Angle Indicator
I had all metal parts done in a Cerakote

300 RUM
: McMillian Stock Remington "Sporter"
: Borden Timberline Mag Action
: Jewel Trigger
: Borden Floor Plate / Trigger Guard
: Hart #4 Fluted Barrel 26" 1-10
: Borden Muzzel Brake
: Talley Rings
: Swavorski X5I 5x25-56
: BT46-LW17 PSR Atlas Bipod
: Flatline Sniper bubble level and Sniper Angle Indicator

I use 300 RUM elk hunting and the 280 AI deer and speed goats.
The 280 AI with a 160g Nosler AB / hand load is a smoker and has more then enough punch for big bull, 3080 fps, but I love 300 RUM with additional energy it puts out, again 200g Nosler AB / hand load, 3150fps

These are my toys and I could not be happier with both
Eric & Jim both did an amazing job!!

Although I've had this since I started the thread, I finally dug it out to show a friend and take a picture of it.

The JAE-700 long action chassis...

Have you considered an Atlas tactical action from Kelbly's? https://www.kelbly.com/actions-steel-atlas-tactical.html
Between the wife and I, we have built four rifles on these actions and all three are smooth, reliable feeding, and accurate. I won't say they are better than all other actions out there (everyone had their own opinion), but I personally will only buy actions from Kelbly's due to the great customer service and quality we have experienced. Give Ian a call and he will take the time to discuss what you are wanting out of the action and ensure you get the right set up to meet your needs

Looks nice.

I'm trying the polar opposite, the cheapest chassis I could find, the cheapest adjustable (US made) stock I could find, one of the cheapest actions I could find and a $340 barrel but still a 284.

If 284 does it for me, I'll build another in the ARC Archimedes and Xylo I have coming.

I’ll give them a look when I’m ready to take the plunge.
