I'm really more of a hunter, and gear my equipment with that in mind, but I do enjoy working in the reloading room in the off-season. Ground squirrel shooting is one of my favorite things to do on a nice, sunny, spring day. Deer in the fall and coyotes all winter.

The older I get (I'm 52) the more I like rifles that don't recoil much. I much prefer to shoot .22 centerfires for banging steel and varmints. I bought a suppressor about 5-6 years ago and really enjoyed that.

I shoot 22-250 for coyotes and ground squirrels. 223 for ground squirrels. Just got into the .17 centerfire stuff recently so i've got a lot to learn there.

I hope that you have a saint for a wife and or a second job lined up. You will very soon realize that you need a lathe and mill to be able to shoot adequately, as well as a new front rest, a new whizz bang scope, and tons of misc items. Luckily, it is easy to get a low interest second mortgage. Enjoy the ride, it is fun. Remember......... you can't take it with you.
