I think you can find friends here, but understand that our area of interest is accurate shooting...so you will find a bunch of gunsmiths, hobbyists, competition shooters, and engineers here. Folks who are able to talk about using machinery to make parts to the .001. Lot's of honest, no BS types here who know stuff, not a bunch of keyboad jockeys. They are usually humble, helpful, especially when someone comes on who really wants to learn. They usually expect that info seekers spend time reading the old articles, the loading info, etc etc in the bulletin, and expect intelligent informed questions regarding making a rifle really shoot well.

Longrangehunting has some pretty good "off topic" threads. A very good site, just not as accuracy specific as here. Lots of good folks over there too. E
