I have an Older Mcmillan MBR stock that was used for LG. I am Thinking of making into a Heavy gun stock. Where, how, and what material (Lead, Tungsten etc...) should I use? Will be used in 1000yard and 600 yard benchrest.
Thanks ACSR
o yea budget STOCK build.

I would add aluminum rails from and rear. Then lead down the stock. Wider is better. I like 6 inches up front and two inhes in the rear. Matt

Mill out the fill in the barrel channel and put in some tungsten shot mixed with epoxy, but transition to lead on the far end to keep more weight in the middle. Mill out some channels under the action and add as much tungsten as you can get in there. I just cut open my old oddball heavy shot shells. May be cheaper than buying tungsten shot. You can also try pricing fishing weights. I mix in #9 skeet shot to fill in the areas around the bigger shot then stir in the epoxy
