Heavy / ELR style bipod

I'm in the market for a heavy duty bipod. I've shot pretty competitively in FO and FTR and know how long it can take to narrow down into a quality combination so looking for some advice from those that have experience.

This will initially be used on a MDT ACC in 7PRC and the biggest I'd go with this platform would be 300wsm or 300PRC. Intended used is 1000yd plus rapid fire shooting steel but not official ELR events. Aiming for 1moa or better at these ranges.

That being said i want a bipod that is still able to fold forward but is SOLID when deployed. Legs don't need to be able to be splayed wider or have the ability to tilt forward or back. ie I'm happy to sacrifice some flexibility for rigidity so more of a ELR than a PRS bipod. Height only needs to be 6-9". Wide is ok providing it doesn't cause vertical flex

The valada looks solid but isn't folding. The accutac seems to be popular. The Cadex looks interesting but can't find and decent videos or info on it. Ive played with cyke pod but wasn't impressed for my purpose. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts?

Atlas 5-H series.....I use one of these on my 338 Lapua Imp. and am more than satisfied.

Really like my Atlas Super Cal for my big guns. That being said, I just picked up an Accu-Tac fc5. Haven't shot it yet but it's a beast!
 
Accutac hd50 or hydraulic bipod. Both are better than the atlas 5h. I haven’t use a super cal from them too compare though
 
Just having a look and accutac do a LP50. Looks to be a "low profile" profile version of the HD50. It only sits .5" lower but it has 2" wider footprint which could be good. Are these new or not as favorable as the HD50?
 
Looks like the accutac LP 50 is pretty new. This video was uploaded a month ago and apparently they released it at the show.

I shot with my buddies. It is solid and stable. Only thing that kept me from getting it was the lack of 45° leg position.
The ELR matches I shoot have a few stages that require a pretty low bipod. If that's not a concern, it's a good choice.

That's good to hear.

On a side note. With the course of fire in your ELR competitions, are you on the clock between targets while you change positions and, with the smaller guns, are people prefering to run skis to get the front to track or use feet to pin the bipod?
 
Had a look at the elite iron. It would probably be ok for this purpose on one rifle but I think the LP 50 will be more versatile on other rifles without needing multiple adapter's

I have the HD50 on my rifles. I believe the new low profile will be a upgrade.

I have tested ski and rubber feet side by side. I use a thin bath mat on top of our cement bench for the ski feet. I retain a better sight picture on recoil and my 1000 yard groups are better.

With the HD50. When the legs are in position can the legs rock forward and back or are the pins a snug fit to the notch?

Looking on the website it's saying the HD50 doesn't have 45deg position either? Same as the new LP50

Correct, 90° or forward. It's pretty solid, they are more of a square pin on the 50s
