Howdy !
I shot a 28" 1-8 barreled varmint rifle, chambered in my
" .22-35 Remington " wildcat. Case capacity was between that of a stock .22-250 and that for a .22-250AI.
I shot Hornady 75 "A"-Max in it exclusively, for both varmint ( groundhog ) and target work.
In my gun/my loads...AA3100 shot best, outperforming H4831, VV160; and VV-560.
The accuracy/ field load I selected was loafing along @ 3,400fps when I used FED LR Match; along w/ great accuracy. Sustituting to shooting FED LR Large Magnum Rifle Match increased vel to 3,500 fps, but groups opened up a bit.

Had the Ole gal out yesterday after receiving some once fired brass from a board member here. I have the same situation as Gary, slow twist rifle. I always thought factory Swifts were 14 twist, but yesterday while cleaning it occurred to me that the cleaning rod was spinning faster than my 14 twist 222 and 222 mag. Didn't think a lot about it as I was pressed for time. Later I did a search and noticed that Ruger may have made the 77V with a twelve twist. After work today I will definitely measure it. Anybody else here checked their old Rugers twist? She still shoots well with the 55 vmax but when it's time for a new barrel I may switch to a faster twist. Currently the idea of the 53 vmax working has me hoping it is a 12.My Swifts are 12 & 14 twists, so I don’t have exactly what you are looking for. But the Swift is basically the same case capacity as the 22-250 imp and the 22 CM so you could start with medium loads from those two with heavy bullet data.
I’d be looking at H4350, N160, Staball6.5 and similar burn rates.
I’m using the Staball6.5 in my 22-250 8 twist to shoot the 77 TMK and it’s working fine.
Curious on why he didn't like your choice?I have one with a 1x8 and it will take up to 77 gr Bergers. with no problem. I have not run any 80s yet.Mine is on a Borden action 28 in tube , by Speedy Gonzales. Here in San Antonio. He said i was crazy buy it shootes
Hotshot -Pre 64 model 70 in McMillan Marksman stock with heavy Lilja 8 twist barrel
What is the case capacity on the .220 AI? How long Is the barrel? 3650 is impressive with the 85.5’sI dont know what to recommend charge wise for a straight swift
I have a 220 Sw AI and use 80's and 85.5's launching them at 3650 fps
I could throw out my charge weights but it would be pretty irrelevent being approx 5 grains water capacity difference between the 2 cases.
FWIW - I use IMR-4831 and Re-22 powder
Leaning heavily to Re-22 being the most accurate (skip Re-19 - tried it, not accurate enough)

If you want to reduce what I use by at least 7 grains to start with for safety, I can look at my notes and let you know my load.
with that load I'm using 45.0 grns of Reloder 22What is the case capacity on the .220 AI? How long Is the barrel? 3650 is impressive with the 85.5’s
88 ELD-m???I am running a 30” on 22 creedmoor N565 3355FPS with the 88’s 3500fps was starting to show pressure
Yes, 8 twist. So far so good - no blow ups but only 350 rounds down the barrel88 ELD-m???
I could not get them to hold together, (Hornady is like that)
