heaviest bullet that 1:10 .243 will launch

Hi,
will be starting f-class this year, hopefully) currently using a factory standard sako varmint stainless laminated, that produces almost one hole groups with 70gr noslers and 75 vmax, will this barrel in 1:10 launch the 105 Berger vld's with success at 600yds?
Is there a table anywhere that gives caliber/bullet weight selection/twist requirements, as i will be having a specific f-class 6mm built later this year as too which 6mm yet to decide.

best regards

nick

You should try the Lapua Scenar 90s and the Berger 95 VLDs. The Scenars should definitely work with your 1:10". The 95 VLDs will be marginal. With hot loads in a fast barrel, some guys are shooting them with success from a 10-twist out to 600. Other guys find then need a true 1:9" and a 1:8.5" would be even better.

Remember stability is based on how many revs the bullet picks up in the barrel. This, is turn, is a function of BOTH twist rate and velocity, the quicker the pill moves through the rifling, the more revs it attains).

To shoot the 105s, 106 CRs, and 107s you'll need a 1:8".
