Heavies in a standard.22-250 ?

Looking at getting a .22-250 upper for my AR20 just to play around and see what all the fuss is about when it comes to he caliber....and getting it to work in a gas gun :D other then that ...meh honestly not sure what I'd use it for that my .223/5.56's can't do

Anyhow seems all I can find off the shelf is 1-14 twist and was just curious what's the heaviest bullets y'all have used with success in standard 1-14 22-250 . And by success I mean like 1moa @100yd

I wouldn't keep a 22-250 that wouldn't shoot 1/2 moa.

The 1:14 twist should handle up to 55 grain bullets. I have not been able to make 60 grain vmax work in the 14 but it does well in 1:12 twist.
Noted exception is the 53 grain vmax. It also needs the 12.

Wolfdog -

Howdy.

55s were the heaviest bullet wt that shot well from the multiple 22-24” 1-14 .22-250s
I have shot. Did also try 60SPs and 60HPs, but those would not group as well as the
Hornady 55 SX and Sierra 55Blitz did.

For pure accuracy work, use 52-53gr FB HPs.

WW760 / H414 shot well w/ the 55s + FED LR Magnum Rifle Match.
The lighter HPs shot really well w/ IMR4350, but would go with H4350 now + FED LR match. Of course, that assumes you will be using LR-primered brass.

All of my .22-250 experiences were w/ bolt rifles, 2 of which were benchrest-grade rifles.
