Hearing protection

I am going on a prarie dog hunt in about 4 weeks and I am wanting to see what everyone is using for hearing protection.

I want to wear both plugs and muffs to maximize my hearing protection. I am worried that the muffs will interfere with the stock and make shooting difficult.

What do you guys use and why?

Thanks,

Bobby

laying out in the prairie,as long as you dont have shooters right beside you) ear plugs will suffice -- the open lay of the land helps alot.

if you will be shooting in tendem, muffs and plugs will be better.

the three times i have gone, plaing disposable plugs have worked fine unless i was shooting beside a buddy.

YMMV,
JB

There are going to up upwards to 6-7 shooters so I suspect I will want to use both plugs and muffs.

Any recommendations on the brand/type of muff that won't interfere with the stock?

Thanks,

Bobby

I use the Peltor Tac 7's. They are bigger, but I get to hear the bullet strike the dogs. And lets me talk to my friends while shooting.

While the Tac 7's are not as slim, they offer more NRR rating than the 6's. My hearing is bad already and I need all the help I can get.
