Hearing Protection Act, Would you fit your F-Class?

By not claiming 6-7k barrel life in F/TR with a made-up .308 Win load?
Forgive me for not specifying that I was talking about the average shooter and not F/TR. I probably should have given F/TR numbers since this thread is about F/TR.
Here is a more realistic one of you. This is a rather hot load that is sorta above SAMMI specs and yields 2830fps. Screen Shot 2017-09-20 at 7.31.52 PM.png
Bellow is what your average shooter would probably be comfortable. 2750fps. Same bullet much safer PSI levels. Not to much different. The average shooter would not see a decline in accuracy from a hunting rifle till about 6-8000 rounds.

Now to get back on track. I have watched Suppressors come and go in european F/TR (F-Class). They are convenient but I see them adding a lot of complications like the back pressure and heat they introduce into the end of the barrels.

Sigh... AA 2460? 2830 fps as 'hot' for a 155? That'd barely (just) be supersonic @ 1k, maybe not, depending on the atmo... You don't actually *shoot* F/TR, do you?

I'll start by saying 30% is my round number looking at my barrels.

A can has a lot of back pressure that puts as huge amount of powder fouling back into the barrel that otherwise would have existed. They also keep the barrel hotter, especially the last few inches and there are massive deposits of carbon and heat on the crown.

For someone shooting 10 shots a year and cleaning, this is probably not the case. For someone shooting competition where the barrel will see 100-150 rounds between cleanings and long strings of fire, they reduce barrel life.

Frank Green has a few comments about this on snipers Hide last year. I believe Terry Cross did as well. My gunsmith confirmed it too.

For me, the juice is worth the squeeze in the 300wm. I can shoot 230s all day and I am a notorious recoil pu@@y. My ears don't take the beating they would with a brake either. A simple set of foam plugs we can comfortably talk while shooting without stuff getting blown off the benches, etc.

Thanks, makes sence. A friend off mine killed a dasher barrel in 1500rounds due to a piece off carbon falling back out of the can down the barrel and shooting over it

The fouling in an AR is horrible, but it shoots. I just need extra time in the corn media before they get sized :)
