Headwind causes bullets to hit high @ 600?

I should stay out of this, there's a heck of a lot more knowledge here than what I can bring to the table, but even say a 1 o'clock wind, and an extremely high DA. We're talking 35+ - inches here, I could see half of that.
I think the op needs to rerun this test, there's more to the story?

Nope. Just the way they shoot. They are not high end rifles.

is one rifle right hand twist and the other a left hand twist ???
the chart is right hand...everything changes with a left hand twist

I like that chart.

I have two 308 rifles that shoot almost the same ammo. To get the same speed one gets just a smidge less powder than the other. Any way one shoots high into the wind and the other shoots low into the wind.

Great discussion, thanks to all for contributing.

In the few years that I've been shooting at this range this is the only time I can remember having a full value wind from directly 12 o'clock. 10s and 11s are pretty common, 1s or 2s not quite so much but not unusual, but straight on is rare.

I remember thinking "this is great, just a straight on headwind, all I'll have to do is hold high" So much for thinking- but when I eventually sorted the elevation I was holding dead on for windage.

The rifle, scope, load, rest, position etc. were all identical to previous outings. Same bullets with the same bc.

Don't know if its relevant but before shooting at 600 I shot a couple rounds at 100 to confirm 0 and elevation was dead on.

As for duplicating the event I agree 100%, a one time experience proves nothing. I'll be looking for similar conditions to try this again.
