Headspacing ?

Hey guys. Just a quick question. I purchased a barrel from a guy on here a little while ago. Was a 243AI. I took it to a gunsmith the other day. He called today and said it needed to be reamed .015-.018 to headspace correctly. Said he could rent a reamer or I could find one. I have contacted the seller and he said it was headspaced perfect on his action(rem700). He was more than willing to help me out. A great guy by the way. My question is should I be looking for a new gunsmith or could the barrel need to be reamed for my action?

Listen to your smith. They aint all the same.

To add to what I wrote before, there are so many variables with Remingtons it's impossible (unless really lucky) to take a barrel off of one and it be right on another. The action it came off of could have an afertmarket recoil lug, could have had some major truing done, just to name a couple, that would easily cause it to be way off from a stock action.
